Flat On-Axis Frequency Response with Wide Bandwidth: Speakers should reproduce the entire audio range in a uniform manner. By ensuring that no one frequency dominates any other, Energy ensures that every note is the way it was intended to be—and the sound as natural as possible.
Wide and Constant Dispersion: Sound at all frequencies radiating from the speaker should be in an even pattern, in all directions throughout the room.
Low Distortion and Resonance: No speaker system is distortion- or resonance-free, but Energy has achieved a significantly lower distortion level, a clearly audible improvement.
Using the same woofer with Ribbed Elliptical Surround as its larger siblings and the identical 1-inch hyperbolic aluminum dome tweeter, the CB-20 delivers exceptional imaging and a large soundstage, along with impressive bass. Identical drivers allow the CB-20 to blend acoustically with other speakers in its family, making it perfect for use in satellite, surround side and rear applications. Port plugs are included for wall mounting.
The distance between speakers typically should be 6-8 feet at minimum for good stereo imaging. The optimum room shape should be rectangular, with the speakers along one of the shorter walls, facing the opposite side. Corner placement is not recommended.

These are fabulous speakers for the price. I have had tried speakers (Defintive Technology, Polk, Klipsch, Bose) and these are the one that sound the best to me. The mid-range is awesome and very neutral. I have a Denon 891 AV reciever that matches very well with warm natural sound. I listened to the same combo at Best Buy prior to purchasing and these were easily the most clear and natural sounding out of many that Best Buy stocks. I went there to purchase B&W 685 (highly rated). However, B&W did not excite me. The sound was warm but somewhat muddy, not sure why. Out of the B&W line, I liked the 683 the best. However, I did not want to purchase towers. So I settled on these. Don;t be fooled by the CB-20 size. It sounds very full range. I also have Monitor Audio RX speakers and the sound is very similar to these. Could not be happpier.

i have had the energy speakers for two months nad they are very detailed in the highs and the midrange is very clear. this is a very balanced speaker and sounds good on acoustical music and all types of hard rock,the soundstage is very wide and deep,sound improves with a good preamp and amp with good dac, i use a harman kardon receiver with a episode 300 watt amp and hot audio dac wow. the energys and other components make for a very good budget system. highly recommended over all others in price range and also read reviews at goodsound and [...]

Head to head with a set of Def Tech Studio Monitors costing 500 dollars, I chose the CB-20s based on listening tests. Super impressed with this speaker, very smooth and full sounding. Midrange is wonderful, so pleasing to listen to, just so liquid. Bass was also better than the SM 350s, which surprised me. The soundstage and imaging of these speakers really surprised me for the price. I listened to Tusk by Fleetwood Mac, a favorite song of mine to demo speakers. The guitar and bass in this song never sounded so realistic to me as it did through the Energys. One thing I would say though is that the hands hitting the bongos just didn't have as obvious a slap on them as with my old B&Ws. But the vocals were very clear with no fatigue at all.
Pink Floyd's Final Cut album was not very well known, but listening to Paranoid Eyes revealed the Energy's ability to sound great with piano. The key strikes especially in the lower regions came through crystal clear and realistic. There are several things going on in the background of this song that lesser speakers will not reveal, but the Energys brought them out nicely. Again not as detailed as the B&Ws but the smooth midrange and clear treble makes up for it in my viewpoint. This song also brought out a weakness in the Energys, as Roger Water's voice came through a bit chesty and boomy and just did not sound quite right. If this is their only weakness, I'll take it for 350 bucks!
