Housed in stunning high-gloss scratch-resistant cabinets with contrasting textured finish and magnetic grilles, A Series loudspeakers look great in any room's decor. To deliver the best performance possible in this price class, Boston Acoustics engineers brought together the best elements of traditional loudspeaker design, incorporating several new technologies and some innovative thinking, to once again set the new standard for performance and value. Laser Vibrometer Scanning and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) identified unwanted resonances in the loudspeaker that were eliminated in both the cabinet and the drive units. Newly developed woofers feature ceramic and glass fiber polymer cones reduce distortion and improve clarity. Rubber surrounds were optimized using FEA and Mass Balancing technique to improve linearity and lower distortion. Woofers feature Boston's Deep Channel Design, allowing increased excursion for improved dynamics. Low-loss film capacitors and low-distortion laminated silicon steel core inductors are used in all critical areas of the crossovers. Elimination of hardware on the cabinet's front baffle, rounded front edges and magnetically attached grills improve A-Series frequency response and imaging. I read about these speakers in Stereophile. I had really nice speakers in my bed room but they were 20 years old (Celestion SL600's) I am running the new speakers with a Peachtree Nova integrated amp. When I plugged in these babies in I just couldn't believe the aliveness of the sound. If I go into the next room and listen to accoustic guitar music you'd swear some one was playing a real guitar in the next room, not a recording. I also have PSB speakers the same size in my office. These Boston Accoustic babies are better. Unbelievable for the price! Haines Ely M.D.

I was looking for some small speakers to use for music and have owned Boston Acoustics before and currently use them in my home theater. I trust the brand, so I purchased the A25 bookshelf speakers and have been very pleased with the performance. They have an excellent output that is crisp and accurate and the cabinet design is sleek and stylish. I'm impressed. Highly recommended!

Of course that is telling more about me than the speakers. I decided to get back into Hi-Fi after a Rip-Van-Winkle hiatus of over 20 yrs. Let me just say, editorially, that the sheer number of choices, and the overall high quality of today's gear is overwhelming. I think that is a good thing. Maybe. Could be. Don' really know!
